  1. DAILY CASH LIMITS of $5,000

WHY: Setting a limit on the amount of CASH you can gamble with or can cash out each day, minimises the risk of fraudulent behaviour such as money laundering, and helps to ensure you engage in responsible gaming.

Your Combined Daily Cash-In Limit

All customers — whether playing Table Games, Gaming Machines, or Electronic Table Games (ETGs) — are subject to a combined daily cash limit of $5,000.

This means that all the following count cumulatively toward your daily $5,000 cash-in limit:

  • Cash buy-ins at Table Games

  • Cash inserted into Gaming Machines

  • Cash inserted into ETGs

If You Reach the $5,000 Daily Cash Limit

If you reach your $5,000 daily cash limit and wish to continue gaming, you may use alternative methods to fund your gaming such as:

  • Funds transfer to your SkyCity Rewards (cashless) account, via EFTPOS, or

  • Telegraphic Transfer (TT) from your Verified Bank Account (VBA) visit.

Collecting Winnings / Cashing Out

If your total cash-outs (including winnings) whether via a Cash Redemption Terminal (CRT) or Cashier exceed $5,000 in a day, any amount above $5,000 will be paid via:

  • Cheque, or

  • Bank transfer to your personal Verified Bank Account (VBA).

In addition to the above, SkyCity’s Responsibility Commitment also encompasses our obligations and dedication to:

  1. ANTI MONEY LAUNDERING / COUNTER- TERRORISM FUNDING

WHY: Along with many businesses and all Casinos in Australia, SkyCity Adelaide is subject to the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006 and Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Rules Instrument (No 1) 2007.

The AML/CTF Act aims to detect, deter and disrupt money laundering, terrorism financing and other serious financial crimes. It supports information sharing among Australian government bodies, international partners, reporting entities, AUSTRAC and law enforcement agencies. It seeks to strengthen public confidence in the financial system through effective controls, fulfil Australia’s international obligations to combat these crimes, address related global concerns and improve Australia’s relationships with foreign countries and international organisations.

SkyCity offers products and services which attract AML/CTF obligations as they involve the provision of designated services listed in section 6 of the AML/CTF Act. Therefore, robust risk management is essential to achieve and maintain compliance with laws, regulations, internal policies and procedures.

At SkyCity we have a team of professionals who are dedicated to upholding our commitment and obligations to ensure that gambling at SkyCity is safe and that we are compliant with applicable laws, including the AML/CTF Act.

  1. CONTINUOUS PRESENCE ON SITE (12 HOURS)

WHY: To minimise risk of gambling harm.

The majority of customers who enjoy all the SkyCity has to offer are aware of, or keep track of, the time they spend at SkyCity, we recognise that one of the potential indicators of gambling related harm is the length of time a patron remains on site at a gambling venue.

To address length of stay, we do not allow patrons to remain within our gaming areas for more than 12 hours in any one day and this is monitored by our team and our technology.

SkyCity Adelaide also, in accordance with the Continuous Presence policy, conducts regular check-ins during a customer’s gaming session to remind our customers of the importance of taking breaks (including at 9.5 hours, 11 hours and 12 hours).

If a customer reaches (or exceeds) 12 hours in the gaming areas we will ask them to leave and, they may not return to SkyCity gaming areas for at least 24 hours.

  1. MY PLAY (PRE-COMMITMENT)

WHY: To provide customers with a personal tool to control their gambling, thereby minimising the risk of gambling harm.

Studies show that setting and sticking to limits on time and spend leads to a more enjoyable, sustainable gambling experience. Every customer is encouraged to set individual limits to help them control their gaming on both Gaming Machines and Automated Table Games.

Customers may limit:

  • The amount of money that they wish to spend;
  • The amount of time that they wish to play; and/or
  • The number of visits they wish to make per week.

The Host Responsibility team is available to assist customers with setting up personal pre-commitment agreements. Alternatively, customers can visit the rewards desk or insert their SkyCity Rewards card into any Gaming Machine or Electronic Table Game and follow the “Set Limits” prompts.
