Understanding how to re-enter SkyCity Adelaide after a welfare barring.
What do I need to do before returning?
If you want to come back to SkyCity Adelaide after your welfare barring has finished, you need to contact a Gambling Help Service. They will help you book a re‑entry support session.
Gambling Help Services are not part of SkyCity Adelaide. They are separate organisations that offer private and confidential support.
These services offer more than just gambling related support. They can also provide help through programs such as financial counselling, personal or relationship counselling, and family support.
Their staff are calm, friendly and are there to support you.
In your re‑entry support session, you will have time to talk about what led to your welfare barring and about how things have been during your break.
The session is a safe place to explore any gambling harm that may have affected you and learn about early warning signs that things might be becoming unsafe.
You will also learn simple strategies to help you feel better prepared returning to gambling.
By the end of the session, you will have a clearer understanding of what affects your gambling. You will also leave with a plan to support your return and information on where to get help in the future if you want more support.
Everything you discuss in the session is private and confidential and will not be shared with SkyCity Adelaide, unless you give your consent.

What happens next?
Once you have given your consent, the Gambling Help Service you choose will notify our Host Responsibility team that you have attended your session. They will also prepare a letter of attendance to confirm that you have participated in a re-entry support session.
They will not share any personal details about what you have discussed in your session unless you authorise them to do so.
When you feel ready, contact the Host Responsibility team to organise your re ‑entry interview.
In this interview, we will have a friendly and respectful conversation about your possible return. We want to make sure you feel supported, and prepared.
After your interview, your request to re-enter SkyCity Adelaide will be forwarded to our management team, who will consider your application.
If your request is approved, you will begin our Safer Gambling Plan. This plan is designed to help prepare and support you re‑entering a gambling environment and to facilitate a responsible and smooth transition back into gambling.
Please note: Attendance at a re-entry support session does not guarantee re-entry. The decision to allow re-entry to SkyCity Adelaide is made by Host Responsibility management.
Once a decision has been reached, you will be contacted and advised of the outcome of your request.
