This June, The Kitchen is diving fork-first into Australia's culinary time capsule with Retro Revival: Penfolds Edition — a deliciously nostalgic journey through the decades, brought to life with Penfolds’ most iconic releases.

In this playful-yet-premium activation, guests will enjoy a five-course progression that reimagines Australia's most memorable dishes from the 1950s through to the 1990s. Each course is inspired by a key decade in Penfolds’ winemaking legacy — with each wine release setting the tone for the dish it’s paired with. While many of the Retro Revival dishes will be available à la carte throughout June, for the full experience, you’ll need to prebook and dine Tuesday through Thursday.

With a strong nod to the recipes that once defined Aussie kitchens — especially those from the Australian Women’s Weekly — each dish will be a modern twist on the retro classics we all grew up with (and secretly love).

This exclusive experience unlocks a few cheeky off-menu surprises — plus the full five-course menu, with each course matched to a standout Penfolds wine from the decade it was first released.

  • Bespoke printed menus
  • Quirky tablecloths that look straight out of your nan’s dining room
